I grew up in Queens, New York, where cats and dogs were a meaningful part of my childhood. My parents instilled a love and respect for animals in me and my siblings. Jasmine, my mom’s rehomed Miniature Schnauzer, kept her alive until age 98 ½ years. Their bond was meant to be. 

 

After a long and successful career in publishing, I retired and spent a winter on Amelia Island in Florida, where I was a volunteer at the Nassau Humane Society. I walked one mile with each energetic dog twice a week. They enjoyed the exercise, and so did I.

When I returned to Michigan, I found myself longing for a new joy-filled experience that would satisfy both my love of animals and my love of the outdoors. And so my pet sitting business was born!
